ARDUS - On The Rocks

Thesis: “How to strengthen the relationship between the player and his companion by using realistic physical attributes while not losing rewarding gameplay feedback?”

The game “ARDUS – on the rocks” deals with the THESIS
relationship between the player and its companion.
While the player is asked to climb his way
from “A” to “B”, his companion acts as a kind of inventory
which is being dragged along, bonded to
the player. In reality, heavy burdens slow a person
down and make it an arduous journey, while in
games most inventories are being implemented
in a very abstract way without having a significant
impact on the gameplay. This element and its impact
on the gameplay shall become an important
feature without losing rewarding feedback of controlling
the character.
